Villain's Sick Beauty Sister Chapter 2: Part 2

This area was a villa district where wealthy families lived together. The landscaping was well maintained, the environment quiet, and the air fresh.

Some snow still remained on the roadside. Lu Nian walked out along the road of the Lu family manor and soon saw people nearby. Several children about her age were squatting by the roadside, rolling snowballs and throwing them at each other, playing happily.

“Lu Nian.”

When the boys saw her walking slowly, they recognized her and gathered around with excitement.

They were all children living in the villa district and studied at the same school. Naturally, they had heard of Lu Nian. However, she had a lonely personality and rarely left the house, so they had never had a chance to play with her.

Because they were still young, although they knew Lu Nian was the Lu family’s young lady, they did not consciously try to flatter her.

It was simply because Lu Nian was pretty. That was the most direct impression she gave them.

Although she still looked childish and often appeared sickly, she was delicate and slender like a doll, with pale skin and soft black hair. The children all wanted to play with her.

Lu Nian smiled apologetically, pointed at her throat, and coughed lightly. The children understood immediately, throwing away their snowballs and lowering their voices as if afraid of disturbing her.

Qiu Lin said, “Lu Nian, you’ve missed class for a long time. I can lend you my notes.”

“Niannian isn’t feeling well. I’ll help copy them for her,” Gu Pingze said. The Gu family and the Lu family had business connections, so Gu Pingze had known Lu Nian since childhood. He spoke in a familiar tone.

Lu Nian thanked them with a gesture. After finally saying goodbye to the enthusiastic boys, she continued walking down the road.

Soon, she saw a familiar figure standing under a tree.

Qin Si stood not far away. It was unclear how long he had been there. He held a small clump of snow in his hand, already squeezed into ice, his head lowered as if lost in thought.

When he saw her surrounded by the others, he showed no intention of stepping forward. Now that she was approaching, Qin Si did not even lift his eyes. He tossed the snow aside indifferently, straightened up, and prepared to leave.

At eleven or twelve years old, he had not grown much yet and still looked like a small boy.

Lu Nian noticed the hands exposed beneath his sleeves. His fingers were long, but the skin was as pale as his cheeks, nearly bloodless. Redness, swelling, and frostbite were obvious. He had been stepped on during the fight earlier. Now bruises had surfaced, bluish against the frostbitten skin. Lu Nian felt a tightness in her chest.

The boy was extremely sensitive. Almost instantly, he noticed her gaze. The tips of his ears turned red. His first reaction was to pull his hands back into his sleeves, trying to hide them.

Before Lu Nian could react, he seemed to think of something and deliberately stretched his injured hand out again, exposing it in front of her.

His expression grew colder. A sneer appeared at the corner of his lips. His dark eyes looked at her.

“Miss, are you satisfied?”

Under the cold winter sun, Lu Nian saw his face clearly for the first time. The original novel had not described Qin Si’s appearance much, focusing instead on his cruelty and ruthless methods.

But the boy standing before her now looked unexpectedly handsome.

Especially his eyes. They were large and dark, though not round, so they did not look childish like those of boys his age.

The little wolf cub stared at her coldly, full of hostility. Yet Lu Nian noticed the snowflakes caught in his long eyelashes and the stubborn fingers hidden behind him.

She blinked and said nothing. Quickly removing her gloves, she handed them to him, her gaze passing over the wounds on his face and hands.

They were thick gloves trimmed with soft white rabbit fur, looking especially warm.

“You can use them,” Lu Nian said softly. Her hands were still inconvenient to use, so removing the gloves took some effort. Her voice drifted in the wind, light and gentle.

Her health was still poor. After standing in the cold wind for so long, chill crept up from her feet. Her throat felt itchy, and she wanted to cough. She smiled apologetically and began walking back.

She thought that after returning, she should ask Aunt Zhang to buy frostbite cream and call a doctor to check Qin Si’s injuries.

The little girl walked unsteadily. Her slender figure gradually disappeared from his sight. She stumbled once and nearly fell.

He remembered that day. It had also been her who spoke up to clear his name.

Qin Si did not understand why she had suddenly treated him kindly. He never believed Lu Nian could show him any goodwill. Yet when he recalled the look she had given him just now, his lips tightened.

It was as if she were a different person.

He shook his head, dismissing the absurd thought. No matter what, this was nothing more than the young lady’s pity for a stray dog by the roadside. When she was happy, she might give him something. When she was unhappy, she would take it back.

Or perhaps it was another trick, giving first and taking back later, just to enjoy watching his pain and embarrassment.

The thorns around the boy’s heart rose defensively, sharpened by years of hardship.

A chill spread through him. Qin Si suddenly pulled off the pair of white gloves and threw them into a nearby trash can.
