Villain's Sick Beauty Sister Chapter 1: Part 2
When Lu Nian opened her eyes again, she saw the snow-white hospital ceiling, dazzlingly white. This time, it didn’t seem like real death. She tried to move her limbs. They seemed intact, but pain came from her right hand when she moved it.
“Niannian.”
Hearing someone call her name, Lu Nian turned her head with difficulty and saw the serious face of a middle-aged man wearing gold-rimmed glasses.
Lu Nian wanted to speak but found her throat hoarse. She nodded slightly to show she was okay. She could feel that her body wasn’t missing anything, and there was no severe pain. Suddenly, she felt that being alive was truly wonderful.
The door opened again. Familiar faces appeared — the little fat boy, the tall boy… Lu Yang. And at the end, a familiar face.
Qin Si.
No one seemed to have helped him treat his wounds. Lu Nian noticed that the cut on his left cheek had already crusted over, as if he had washed it roughly himself. She didn’t know whether it was infected. The bruises on his face hadn’t faded, and he looked miserable.
“Let’s talk about this.” Lu Zhihong took off his glasses and rubbed his forehead. “What happened?”
The teenagers stood together, no longer arrogant. The little fat boy licked his lips but said nothing.
He was referring to Qin Si.
The ward fell silent.
Lu Yang knew that his distant sister had always been uncomfortable with Qin Si. If things went this way, Qin Si might be sent back to the orphanage or even to juvenile school. He didn’t believe Lu Nian would refuse to cooperate.
Qin Si looked indifferent. Since entering the ward, he hadn’t said a word.
“Yes, it was him. We all saw it,” the little fat boy said.
“Yes, we didn’t have time to stop him,” another added.
Since arriving at the Lu family, Qin Si had always been gloomy, withdrawn, and surly. He kept his distance from everyone, and no one could understand him. Lu Zhihong remained silent, but belief already showed in his eyes.
“Qin Si,” Lu Zhihong said, “if you continue behaving like this, we’ll have to contact the orphanage and consider sending you back.”
A deep crease formed between the middle-aged man’s brows.
Originally, bringing Qin Si back from the orphanage had been for Lu Nian’s sake. However, over the past two years, Lu Nian had shown no interest in him and even resisted him.
The Lu family could afford to raise a child, but they wouldn’t raise someone useless. If he remained this way and negatively affected Lu Nian, they could naturally send him back.
Sent back…
If he were sent back, he might lose the chance to study again.
He might even return to days of hunger and cold.
The boy said nothing. His head lowered, long bangs covering his eyes so his expression could not be seen. His lips were pressed tightly together, pale and bloodless.
He did not defend himself.
No one would believe him anyway.
Since birth, he had grown numb to this treatment.
He remembered the spiderwebs on the orphanage walls, the cracked plaster, the freezing winters when he curled into a ball under a thin blanket, staring at the endless snowy dusk outside.
“It wasn’t him.”
A hoarse voice came from the bed.
This time, her voice was louder and extremely clear.
For the first time, Qin Si raised his head and looked at her.
The room fell completely silent.
Phew, kinda glad that the original body hadn't really done anything to our future little villain. At least, physically.
